2025 Symposium Call for Submissions

The South Park National Heritage Area (SPNHA) and the Department of Heritage & Tourism (Park County) invite you to join them at the 3rd Annual SPNHA conference as they welcome all those who preserve, promote and interpret historic places and the history of South Park.

The 2025 conference “People, Places & Spaces” is being held in Fairplay, Colorado at the Park County government building on the 13th of September 2025.

The South Park National Heritage Area conference was created to engage regional partners in Preservation, History, Museums, and Archaeology in a cross-discipline conference that would allow for collaboration, inspiration, and networking. Whether you are an archaeologist, teacher, student, community leader, museum professional or volunteer, amateur preservationist, or simply a local history buff we invite you to attend.

This year’s conference theme celebrates and commemorates the people, places and spaces that have built this unique cultural landscape.

South Park National Heritage Area (SPNHA) invites speakers of diverse backgrounds and disciplines to submit proposals for this new and exciting conference. SPNHA is particularly interested in submissions that approach the conference theme of people, place, and landscape.

  • Presentation time of 15-20 minutes, with 20-25 minutes expected for questions per presentation.
  • Conference Submission Deadline: Friday, 8/29/2025
  • A digital version of your slideshow will be needed within 1 week before the conference. Online or cloud versions are acceptable.
